Profile

The "BORIVALI (CENTRAL) CPE STUDY CIRCLE" is a Study Circle formed under the aegis of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The primary objective of our study circle is to conduct Continued Programs of Education for knowledge enhancement and to give platform to the members of the group to speak on the subject of his specialization.

Study circle organizes fortnightly/weekly meetings of the members and invites eminent and experienced professionals from different walks of life to share their knowledge, experiences and build an environment for constructive discussions and debates. Study circle has also formed an online group of all the members where everybody gets updates about the activities of the study circle regularly.

The study circle started with 25 members in 1996 and with the dedicated efforts of many past convenors/deputy convenors its membership has grown manifold in a span of 12 years. The current strength of the study circle is over 750 members. Though most of the members are from areas around Borivali, there are also members from Colaba to Virar.

The study circle has been consistently organizing more than 40 programs annually and has clocked more than 100,000 CPE hours in the year 2007 with average of 130 hours of CPE per member.

In addition to the academics, the study circle also organizes Picnics, Annual Get-together with family members, social activities like Tree Plantation, and Blood Donation Camp. There has been an encouraging participation and support to the activities of the Study Circle from WIRC Chairman, Presidents and Vice Presidents of our Institute, Regional and Central Council members from time to time.

The "Borivali (Central) CPE Study Circle" has been awarded the "BEST STUDY CIRCLE (within Mumbai)" during the year 2005 & 2006 and awarded as "Commendable Study Circle" during the year 2004 & 2007 by virtue of having attained excellence in its working and organizing Academic Programmes.

It is the endeavor of the Study Circle not to rest on its past laurels, but to progress at the speed at which its Alma Mater "ICAI" is progressing and expects its chapters to progress.
